Rich Edwards music and photography

Me and a few friends have formed a group called "The Fools on the Hill" ( we all live in Windmill Hill Bristol.)  We have just played our first two performances. I suggested to my band mates that I would like to have a go at writing some music, if they could perhaps have a go at the lyrics. Well , I just recorded a three track composition  - I am looking forward to seeing if any lyrics can fit with it! Please feel free to download it and have a go yourself!!  -Cheers,  -Rich.

my stuff............

I love playing music! There are some great tunes out there- I have really enjoyed recently learning some of Jon Schmidt's stuff- check out his website- he is a real joy to listen to.
I find the writing of  short pieces of music an invigorating process- there is a certain excitement about creating something where there was nothing before- a kind of musical alchemy I suppose!  I write to please myself, in the first instance- but I like the idea of others having a listen and maybe giving their considered opinion.

I record using a midi set up , including midi  piano, but also record live guitar, vocals and other stuff. I am just starting to learn the 5 string banjo- the tune "in the thick of it" is my first go at trying out some Irish chordal sequences on a banjo.

A little while back I was delighted  to be asked if my music could be used in a  documentary about the Navarra region of Spain - if you are interested in finding out more  please follow this  link................

Some of my music is available to purchase, royalty free , for use in films etc, through this website:

I have  also been seen busking with my  good mate Dave, on the Horn Bridge, in Bristol.  We can sometimes just about make the minimum wage ( about 6 quid an hour!!).

Please contact me if you would like me to create some instrumental music for you. I love to have challenges, and I'm not in it for the money either!

I also find myself pretty much absorbed with trying to capture the beauty I come across,in photographs whether in the natural world, or through portaiture.   I have included some of my favourite images on this site. I am currently experimenting with using old screw thread lenses- eg Pentax Super Takumars, on a digital SLR body via an adaptor. Most of the photos on this page are taken with these lenses. I do think that these older lenses give a superior quality and overall sharpness than their more modern and far more expensive counterparts!

Thanks for taking the time to have a look and a listen.
